In my search for lighting in the kitchen/dining area, I came across the above chandelier on Dezeen. I was instantly reminded of a previous post, also on Dezeen from a few years back, showcasing some beautifully designed compact fluorescent light bulbs. A visit to my Delicious bookmarks and I’d rediscovered The Plumen:

The Plumen prototypes have gotten a lot of attention over the last couple years, but to date haven’t gone into production. Happily, revisiting the site I found that Holger is bringing them to market sometime this year.
