Halloween is upon us! My favorite holiday of the year.

Tomorrow night, the Sound Noir crew is coming together to outfit a room at the “Bold School” Factory party at 213 N8 Street. RSVP here.

Factory Halloween I guess it’s official, I do visuals. I would have preferred to use the name “Mechaneyes” to identify myself with this kind of output, but it seems with everything coming together at the last minute I won’t have the opportunity to hide behind that moniker. It’d be nice if my name didn’t stand out so prominently though. ;)

Also with things being as last minute as they are, and considering we’re not being considerably compensated for this event, I’m not putting the effort I normally do into this iteration. Before making that decision, I spoke with Andrey a few nights ago and expressed to him the anxiety provoked by the available time and my lack of imagery or even a theme. He told me that it’s not worth worrying about, and that if I wanted to just loop a film or two, that would be sufficient for this party.

Andrey is angling toward using the film Liquid Sky. I’m looking to use Dark City, which being a modern movie very much in the vein of film noir, fits our “Sound Noir” aesthetic nicely.

It would have been great to have more time for this…fun even if all I were able to do were to create a montage of scenes from classic horror films. Next time.

The Factory party is happening Friday night the 30th, not actually on Halloween.

The night of Halloween itself, I’m probably headed to PS 160 for the party DJd by Anton (No Ordinary Monkey), Andre (Bumrocks) and Thomas (Whatever We Want Records.)

And now for the aspect of the holiday that I love the most: I’m dressing as Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver, mohawk and all:

Come out and play!
