This isn’t the first time I’ve seen a photographer work this way. I’ve even taken a few shots in a somewhat similar fashion:
As a bit of a departure, when I dug up this image I’d shot in 2005, I decided to look back at the blog post I’d written about the experience of Janet Cardiff’s Her Long Black Hair.
What struck me, which I’d completely forgotten about, was that at the time I was eagerly anticipating the introduction of augmented reality apps. I’d felt Her Long Black Hair was a good example of how one might be able to augment reality using existing off the shelf technologies. Here we are four years later and the examples are finally beginning to appear.
