Buying from the Amazon Kindle Store
Just bought Vernor Vinge’s A Deepness in the Sky from the Amazon Kindle store, and loaded it on my iPhone.
The process was very smooth. I saw the image to the left, and clicked the “Buy Now” button. I was then told “Your item will be sent to Dance Dance Dance. Kindle for iPhone will start downloading this item the next time you open the application.” I started the app, saw that it was using the network and a moment later found the book on the phone.
I’d rather not have had to visit the website to make the purchase, but Amazon has made the process as easy as possible. Were I able to make purchases through Amazon’s Whispernet not only would I be buying books, but I’m sure I’d be spending on newspapers and magazines as well. I’m envious of Kindle owners who are able to grab their Kindles as they walk out the door and read the paper on them as they’re headed into work. One day soon…
