The Fall

I learned today that, surprisingly, there is no Academy Award for film title sequences. As much as people are able to sometimes overlook them, it’s obvious they add a great deal to their respective films. My learning this today comes as a shock as I’ve been watching the opening title sequence for “The Fall” repeatedly for the last couple weeks. You have a look and tell me this isn’t art.

Well, “The Fall” came out in 2006, so it wouldn’t have been up for anything tonight. It’s just a great example of what we’re consistently overlooking.

For more of the same check out The Art of the Title Sequence. They also podcast their selections, so following along is really quite easy.
