Sometimes I’m slow getting images off my phone. I found that Apple making iPhoto the conduit through which images are downloaded made my life much more difficult. Perhaps I didn’t look at tweaking the app enough, but the default location for downloaded images never made sense to me. Besides, I’d rather not have to open iPhoto at all. The way I found around this was to Jailbreak the phone, install ssh on it, then ftp the images into the much more descriptive directory of my choice.
The reason the image on the left remained stuck on my phone was that I begrudgingly upgraded to 2.1 therefore locking me back into my previously Jailbroken phone. Rather than wait any longer, or forget about it completely, I uploaded it to Flickr via Shozu, quickly locked down access to the image, downloaded it to my local machine, worked on it in Photoshop, re-uploaded it then made it public. Wow, what a fucking hassle.
I was hoping that the quirks in my phone — not being able to change wallpaper, and other nuisances — would be aleviated by the upgrade to 2.1. Since that fixed nothing, I’m kinda stalled out wondering if I should have the phone repaired / replaced, or just Jailbreak it again and worry about that later.
